11-Year-Old Boy in Critical Condition After Being Struck by Vehicle While Riding Electric Scooter in Washington County

WASHINGTON COUNTY MN - An 11-year-old boy was transported to a hospital in critical condition Wednesday morning after being struck by a vehicle while riding an electric scooter in Baytown Township, Washington County.

According to the Washington County Sheriff’s Office, emergency dispatchers received a 911 call at approximately 8:16 a.m. reporting a collision involving a motor vehicle and a juvenile riding an electric scooter at the intersection of 40th Street North and Paradise Avenue North.

First responders arrived at the scene and immediately began performing CPR on the boy. He was subsequently transported to Regions Hospital in critical condition.

Authorities initially reported the victim was 15 years old but later confirmed he was 11.

The Minnesota State Patrol was called to assist with crash reconstruction.

The incident remains under investigation by the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and the Minnesota State Patrol.
