ORIGINAL STORY - NEW PRAGUE, MINNESOTA: Authorities in New Prague announced Tuesday afternoon that they have located the body of a man in a field on Tuesday morning, September 9, 2025, following a multi-day search effort involving several law enforcement agencies and community members.
According to the New Prague Police Department, the discovery was made at approximately 10:50 a.m. on September 9 with the assistance of a law enforcement drone. Investigators believe the deceased individual is the same man reported missing on September 7. While the police haven’t confirmed it, in our update as of 5:30 PM, the family did confirm this was Logan Sampson.
Background on the Missing Person Alert
Limitless Media received word about a missing person in the New Prague, Minnesota, area during the evening hours of September 7th, and we relayed this information in an initial post on our Facebook that evening. On September 8th at 1 p.m., the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension (BCA) was notified by the New Prague Police, and they issued a missing person alert at the request of the New Prague Police Department. The alert sought public assistance in locating 24-year-old Logan Sampson.
Sampson was described as 6 feet, 2 inches tall, weighing 190 pounds, with brown hair and blue eyes. He was last seen leaving his residence near the 600 block of Bernas Lane in New Prague on foot on the early morning of September 7, wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt and black jogger pants.

Search Efforts and Discovery
Since the time Sampson was reported missing, multiple law enforcement agencies, fire departments, first responders, and community members have joined the effort to locate him.
“We are deeply grateful for the combined efforts of all agencies, partners, and community members who assisted in the search and supported the family during this difficult time,” said New Prague Police Chief Tim Applen.
Ongoing Investigation
The identity of the deceased and the cause of death have not yet been officially released. The Hennepin County Medical Examiner’s Office will conduct an autopsy and provide additional information at a later date. Police emphasized that the incident remains under investigation.
In their press release, the New Prague Police Department stated the New Prague Fire Department supported the extensive search effort, along with the Scott County Sheriff’s Office, Shakopee Fire Department, Eden Prairie Police Department, Minnesota Search and Rescue Dog Association, Savage Police Department, the Federal Bureau of Investigation, and the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Investigation.
Authorities say no additional details are available at this time.
