BURNSVILLE MN: The City of Burnsville is establishing a new Arts Advisory Commission aimed at helping shape the future of arts and culture in the community.

The commission will be made up of community members with a variety of interests, experiences and perspectives. Members will explore ways arts and culture can bring people together, strengthen Burnsville’s community identity and create more opportunities for residents to experience and participate in the arts.

According to the city, the commission will provide recommendations to city officials and help identify opportunities for residents to experience, participate in and celebrate the arts throughout Burnsville.

The Burnsville City Council is expected to adopt an ordinance on Oct. 6 formally outlining the commission’s purpose, responsibilities and other guidelines.

The Arts Advisory Commission is scheduled to begin meeting monthly in January 2027. Commissioners will serve staggered three-year terms.
