BURNSVILLE, MN - With Election Day now over, Burnsville residents looking to dispose of political campaign signs have an opportunity to recycle them rather than send them to a landfill.

The City of Burnsville is offering yard sign recycling at its Public Works facility from November 4 through November 16.

According to the city, corrugated plastic yard signs can be recycled into new products, including outdoor furniture, while the metal stakes used to hold the signs can be recycled as scrap metal.

Residents with signs from local political campaigns are encouraged to first contact the campaigns to see whether they would like the signs returned for future use. If the campaigns do not want them back, residents can bring the signs to the recycling location.

The recycling opportunity is not limited to political signs. Other yard signs can also be dropped off for recycling.

Signs can be brought to the Burnsville Public Works facility at 13713 Frontier Court in Burnsville between November 4 and November 16, 2026.
