Firefighters Respond to Corn Dryer Fire at Farmers Mill & Elevator in Castle Rock

CASTLE ROCK, MINNESOTA—Multiple fire departments responded Monday morning, October 27, 2025, to a confirmed structure fire at the Farmers Mill & Elevator located in the 27000 block of Danville Avenue in Castle Rock Township.

According to initial reports, the fire was first reported shortly after 9:15 a.m., prompting a response from the Farmington Fire Department, Northfield Fire, Northfield EMS, and local law enforcement. The fire was confirmed to be located in the facility’s corn dryer, a piece of equipment commonly used in agricultural operations to dry harvested corn before storage.

Around 9:38 a.m., mutual aid was requested to assist in containing the blaze, including water tenders from the Lakeville, Rosemount, and Randolph-Hampton Fire Departments. Randolph-Hampton Fire was unable to fulfill the request, so an additional tender was requested from Rosemount Fire. Just before 10 AM, crews on the scene reported that they had water on the fire and that it was under control.

As of this report, no injuries have been confirmed, and the extent of the damage remains under investigation. Firefighters remain on scene as operations continue.

This is a developing story, and further updates will be provided as more information becomes available.
