Three Arrested on Probable Cause Murder in Edina Shooting Near Southdale

8PM UPDATE: Three men were arrested Wednesday afternoon on probable cause murder in connection with a fatal shooting investigation near the 3300 block of W. 66th Street in Edina, according to the Edina Police Department.

Police said the arrests occurred around 4:15 p.m. on April 22. Investigators believe the victim and the suspects are known to each other, indicating the incident was not random.

The shooting was reported earlier in the day in the area near Southdale. Authorities have not yet released the identity of the victim or the suspects.

W. 66th Street, which had been closed during the investigation, has since reopened to traffic.

Multiple agencies assisted at the scene, including the Edina Fire Department, Crystal Police Department, Bloomington Police Department, Eden Prairie Police Department, Minnesota State Patrol, St. Louis Park Police Department, Richfield Police Department, Minnetonka Police Department, Hopkins Police Department, the Hennepin County Sheriff’s Office, and the Metropolitan Airports Commission Police Department.

Police are asking anyone with security footage from the Southdale area or information related to the incident to contact investigators at EdinaPoliceTips@EdinaMN.gov.

The investigation remains ongoing. No additional updates are expected Wednesday night.

The Edina Police Department is investigating a fatal shooting that occurred Wednesday afternoon in the 3300 block of West 66th Street.

According to an update issued around 3 p.m., officers were called to the area at approximately 12:30 p.m. on a report of a shooting. When officers arrived, they located one victim suffering from a gunshot wound.

Police said life-saving measures were attempted, but the victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

Authorities said the suspects fled before officers arrived and remain at large. Investigators are actively following up on leads.

Nearby businesses were advised to go into lockdown during the response.

Out of caution, officials are asking the public to continue avoiding the area as multiple law enforcement agencies remain on scene and the investigation continues.

Police are also asking anyone with security or surveillance footage from the area to contact investigators via email at police@EdinaMN.gov.

No additional information about the victim or suspects has been released.
