TWIN CITIES: - Multiple high-risk search warrants were executed Wednesday morning in Burnsville, Savage and Shakopee as part of an investigation into a July shooting in Edina, according to the Edina Police Department.

Police said the operation began around 9 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 26, with Edina officers and other southwest metro SWAT teams carrying out warrants at multiple locations.

The warrants are connected to a July 2 shooting near York Avenue in Edina, police said.

One of the police operations took place in the 6900 block of 156th Street. Authorities initially advised nearby residents to remain inside as a precaution and asked others to avoid the area while emergency personnel worked.

Edina police said the investigation remains active and no additional information was immediately available, including whether any arrests were made during Wednesday's operations.
