BURNSVILLE, MINNESOTA: Emma Gabbert, a lifelong Burnsville resident and community advocate, is launching a campaign for the Minnesota House of Representatives in District 55B, with a public kickoff event scheduled for Friday, January 30, 2026.
The campaign launch will take place from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Mediterranean Cruise Cafe, with formal remarks beginning at 5:30 p.m. Supporters, local residents, and members of the media are invited to attend, meet the candidate, and hear about Gabbert’s priorities for the district.
Gabbert, who was born and raised in Burnsville, is positioning her candidacy around deep community ties and a background in public service and advocacy. She is a graduate of Minnesota State University, Mankato, and Metro State University, educational experiences she says helped shape her focus on education, community health, and policy-driven solutions.
A central component of Gabbert’s public advocacy has been addressing the opioid crisis through harm-reduction strategies. She has worked extensively to expand access to naloxone kits across Minnesota, an effort aimed at preventing overdose deaths and improving public health outcomes. Her work in this area has drawn public attention and contributed to broader conversations about statewide access to lifesaving resources.
“District 55B deserves leadership that understands this community because they come from it,” Gabbert said in a statement announcing her campaign. “I’m running to fight for policies that keep our neighbors safe, supported, and heard at the Capitol.”
The January 30 event will include remarks from Gabbert outlining her vision for District 55B, as well as informal opportunities for attendees to ask questions, share concerns, and discuss local priorities. Organizers say the gathering is intended to serve as both a campaign launch and a community conversation about the district's future.
