Four Killed in White Bear Lake House Fire; Cause Still Under Investigation

WHITE BEAR LAKE: Four people were killed in a house fire in White Bear Lake over the weekend, according to a March 23 update from the White Bear Lake Fire Department.
The fire occurred March 21 in the 2100 block of Richard Avenue. Officials described the incident as a “devastating house fire” that claimed the lives of four community members.
According to the fire department, the investigation remains in its early stages. Preliminary findings have not identified any evidence that the fire was intentionally set. The official cause of the fire has not yet been determined and remains under investigation.
The White Bear Lake Fire Department said it is working alongside the Minnesota State Fire Marshal’s Office and dedicating all available resources to determine what led to the fire.
“Our priorities are, first and foremost, being present for those directly affected by this tragedy, conducting a thorough investigation, and ensuring our first responders involved in this incident heal alongside the community,” the department said in its release.
Officials also acknowledged the impact on the community and extended condolences to the families and friends of those who died.
The city has also made mental health support available to first responders involved in the incident.
