Minnesota State Patrol Seeking SUV in Fatal Hit-and-Run Crash on Highway 252 in Brooklyn Park

BROOKLYN PARK, MN: A fatal hit-and-run crash early Tuesday morning in Brooklyn Park has prompted investigators to ask for the public’s help locating a vehicle believed to be connected to the incident.
According to the Minnesota State Patrol and the Brooklyn Park Police, the crash occurred at approximately 1:23 a.m. on May 19, 2026, along southbound Highway 252 near 73rd Avenue North. Officers responded to reports of a pedestrian being struck by a vehicle. Authorities said the driver involved left the scene following the crash.
The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene. Additional information about the victim has not yet been released.
The Minnesota State Patrol is now leading the investigation and searching for a dark gray 2016-2019 Toyota RAV4 believed to have been involved in the fatal collision.
Investigators said the SUV may have the following damage and missing parts:
Front passenger-side bumper damage
Missing passenger-side mirror
Missing passenger-side fog lamp
Damaged passenger-side door rain guard
The vehicle is believed to resemble stock images released by investigators.
Authorities are asking anyone who may have seen the SUV, knows where it may be located, or has information related to the crash to contact the Minnesota State Patrol at 763-279-4559.
