Woman Charged in Fatal March Crash That Killed Pedestrian

MINNEAPOLIS: A woman has been charged in connection with a fatal crash that killed a pedestrian last month in Minneapolis.
According to Minneapolis Police Chief Brian O’Hara, the Hennepin County Attorney’s Office has charged Gabryella Marie Liebgott with criminal vehicular homicide in the death of Seham Hassen.
Hassen was struck by a vehicle while crossing the street on March 22, 2026. Authorities said she died as a result of the incident.
Liebgott was arrested on Friday, April 3, 2026, and formally charged on Monday, April 6, 2026.
“The death of Seham Hassen is a tragic loss,” O’Hara said. “The loss to Seham’s family and loved ones is profound, and we hope this step toward justice provides them with some measure of relief. I am grateful for the work of our investigators in identifying the person responsible for Seham’s death and bringing her in to face justice.”
No additional details about the circumstances of the crash were immediately released.
The defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
