Hy-Vee Offering Free Breakfast for Veterans and Active Military Members on May 20th

MINNESOTA: As the United States prepares to celebrate its 250th anniversary, grocery chain Hy-Vee is inviting veterans and active-duty military members to enjoy a free breakfast and coffee event. The company announced that veterans and active military personnel can receive a free breakfast on Wednesday, May 20, 2026, from 6 a.m. to 10 a.m. at participating Hy-Vee locations with hot food service. The breakfast will be available for both dine-in and carryout orders.
According to Hy-Vee, the complimentary breakfast is part of the company’s recognition of America’s 250th anniversary and its ongoing efforts to honor military service members and veterans. Promotional materials for the event state that guests can enjoy “free breakfast and coffee as we celebrate America’s 250th anniversary.”
In addition to the May 20th breakfast event, Hy-Vee is also offering free coffee every Wednesday in May for veterans and active military members at participating locations with hot food service.
Hy-Vee said eligible shoppers can also receive 10% off groceries on Wednesday, May 20th. The discount applies to in-store purchases using Fuel Saver/Loyalty number 14300 and online orders placed using the promo code “HERO10.”
The breakfast menu is expected to include traditional items such as eggs, biscuits and gravy, hash browns, and other hot breakfast offerings, according to information released by the company about the event.
The employee-owned grocery chain, headquartered in West Des Moines, Iowa, operates more than 280 stores across the Midwest, including numerous locations throughout Minnesota.
