Pedestrian Killed in Vehicle Crash in Inver Grove Heights

INVER GROVE HEIGHTS, MINNESOTA – A pedestrian has died following a vehicle-versus-pedestrian crash Saturday evening in Inver Grove Heights, according to the Inver Grove Heights Police Department.
Police and fire crews were dispatched at approximately 5:30 p.m. on Saturday, January 17, 2026, to the area near the intersection of Upper 55th Street and Blaine Avenue for reports of a pedestrian struck by a vehicle. Responders arrived to find the pedestrian in the roadway and immediately began providing medical assistance.
The pedestrian was transported by M Health Paramedics to Regions Hospital, where they were later pronounced deceased.
Authorities stated that the driver involved in the crash is cooperating fully with the investigation and showed no signs of impairment at the scene. The identity of the pedestrian has not yet been released and will be provided by the Ramsey County Medical Examiner’s Office once notification procedures are complete.
The incident remains under active investigation by the Inver Grove Heights Police Department, with assistance from the Minnesota State Patrol. No additional details have been released at this time.
