Woman in Custody After Early-Morning Fire and Standoff at Lakeville Apartment Complex

LAKEVILLE, MINNESOTA: An early-morning incident at the Lakeville Court Apartments ended with an arrest after police and firefighters responded to a reported fire outside the complex in the 20300 block of Dodd Boulevard.
According to officials with the Lakeville Police Department, officers and firefighters arrived at the scene around 3:20 a.m. Tuesday, and quickly extinguished a fire in the complex area. Authorities determined that the fire appeared to have been intentionally set. A neighbor tells us the fire was to a mailbox and clothes in the parking lot.
Neighbors in the area also reported hearing “pops and bangs” during the incident. Police confirmed these noises were connected to the fire, but stressed there were no reports of shots being fired.
Standoff and SWAT Response
During the initial response, police identified a person of interest believed to have retreated to a residential unit within the complex. Due to safety concerns, the South Metro SWAT team was called in to assist.
After several hours of negotiations and monitoring the situation, an adult female exited the residence at approximately 8:20 a.m. and was taken into custody on charges related to the incident.
Investigation Ongoing
Police have not released the woman’s name or specific charges at this time. The case remains under active investigation.
