Man on Probation Charged With Criminal Sexual Conduct Following Mall of America Incident

BLOOMINGTON MN: — A man who was already on probation for a separate felony conviction has been charged after prosecutors allege he had nonconsensual contact with an employee at the Mall of America over the weekend.
Cedric Casino Anderson has been charged in Hennepin County District Court with fifth-degree criminal sexual conduct involving nonconsensual sexual contact, a gross misdemeanor. The charge carries a maximum sentence of 364 days in jail and/or a $3,000 fine.
According to the criminal complaint, Bloomington police responded to the Mall of America on the afternoon of Sept. 14 following a report of an alleged incident involving an employee.
Prosecutors allege Anderson approached the employee while she was working and later made unwanted physical contact with her.
The employee subsequently notified others about the alleged incident, and mall security was contacted, according to the complaint.
Mall security identified Anderson as the alleged suspect, and responding officers took him into custody. Anderson declined to provide a statement to police, according to prosecutors.
At the time of the alleged incident, Anderson was on probation following a January 2026 sentencing for felony third-degree assault in a separate case, according to the complaint. Prosecutors cited his prior criminal history and probation status in requesting maximum cash-only bail.
Anderson was in custody when the complaint was filed.
The charge is an allegation, and Anderson is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in court.
