Suspect in Custody After Maplewood Police Officer Stabbed During CVS Incident

MAPLEWOOD: A suspect is in custody after a Maplewood police officer was stabbed while responding to a reported disturbance Tuesday morning.

According to the Maplewood Police Department, officers were dispatched at approximately 11:45 a.m. on Tuesday, July 21, 2026, to the CVS located at the intersection of County Road B East and White Bear Avenue following a report of a disorderly person involved in a potential theft.

Police said a responding officer made contact with the suspect, who allegedly attacked the officer with a knife.

The officer sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was treated at the scene by emergency medical personnel before being transported to a local hospital for further evaluation.

The suspect was taken into custody at the scene.

The incident remains under active investigation. The Maplewood Police Department said additional information will be released as it becomes available.
