Multi-County Police Pursuit Ends in Minneapolis Arrest After Mendota Heights Burglary
MENDOTA HEIGHTS, MINNESOTA— A burglary in Mendota Heights early Monday morning, September 29, 2025, triggered a multi-county police pursuit that spanned several cities in the Twin Cities metro area before concluding in Minneapolis with the arrest of a suspect.
According to the Mendota Heights Police Department, officers were called to the 1900 block of Crown Point Drive for a reported burglary. During the incident, a vehicle was stolen from the residence. When officers later located the stolen vehicle, the driver refused to stop, and a pursuit began. Over the next two hours, the chase wound through multiple jurisdictions and at least five counties in the Twin Cities area, including Dakota, Goodhue, Washington, Ramsey, and Hennepin counties.
The suspect drove at high speeds, passed vehicles on the shoulder, and traveled into oncoming traffic lanes while trying to evade capture. The pursuit eventually led to southern Minneapolis, in the area of East 36th Street and Minnehaha Avenue, where the suspect abandoned the stolen vehicle. A search followed, and officers were able to locate and arrest a male suspect a short time later.

The incident involved a wide range of responding agencies, including police from Mendota Heights, Inver Grove Heights, Hastings, Prairie Island, and Minneapolis, as well as deputies from Goodhue and Ramsey counties and troopers from the Minnesota State Patrol. Thankfully, no injuries were reported in the burglary or during the pursuit.
Authorities said the case remains under active investigation, and no further details can be been released at this time.
