Minneapolis Shooting Leaves One Dead; Investigation Underway

MINNEAPOLIS, MINNESOTA - The Minneapolis Police say they are investigating a shooting early Friday morning that left one person dead.

According to a press release from the Minneapolis Police Department, officers from the Fourth Precinct responded to the 2100 block of Thomas Ave N in Minneapolis, Minnesota, early Friday morning and found a person down in front of a residence suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. That victim was later pronounced dead on the scene. The Minneapolis Police Department says officers learned there was a ShotSpotter activation at 2:24 AM in the area of 21st Ave N/Upton Ave N, and a scene was located there.
