Rosemount Squad Car Struck While Responding to a Medical Emergency
ROSEMOUNT, MINNESOTA - On Wednesday, August 13, 2025, at approximately 1:08 p.m., a Rosemount Police officer responding to a medical emergency was involved in a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of County Road 42 and Diamond Path.
According to the Rosemount Police Department, the officer was en route to assist a 56-year-old woman experiencing chest pain. Emergency lights and sirens were activated as the squad car traveled northbound on Diamond Path toward County Road 42. Upon arriving at the intersection, the officer came to a complete stop to allow eastbound traffic to yield. Witnesses reported that three vehicles in the southernmost eastbound lane stopped to give right of way. The officer then began slowly entering the intersection.
As the squad proceeded through, it was struck in the driver’s side door by an eastbound vehicle traveling in the northernmost lane of County Road 42. The collision caused injuries to both the officer and the other driver, who were transported to a local medical facility for further evaluation and an abundance of caution. They’re injuries were believed to be minor.
The Minnesota State Patrol is leading the investigation into the crash. No additional details have been released at this time as the investigation is still ongoing.
