Overturned Semi Closes Southbound Hwy 52 in Rosemount Following Crash with BMW
ROSEMOUNT, MINNESOTA – A two-vehicle crash involving an overturned semi-truck shut down a portion of southbound Highway 52 in Rosemount early Friday morning. The Minnesota State Patrol says the crash happened around 7:05 a.m. on Friday, May 2, 2025, near the junction with Highway 55.
According to officials, a BMW and a semi-truck collided, causing the semi to overturn and block all southbound lanes. The driver of the BMW suffered minor injuries and was transported to a hospital for treatment.
Traffic is being diverted to eastbound Highway 55 while crews work to clear the scene. Authorities initially believed the semi was leaking fuel, but the State Patrol has since confirmed that only motor oil spilled. Rosemount Fire Department and Dick’s Towing responded to assist with cleanup and containment of the spill, and Dick’s Towing was also handling uprighting the semi and crash clean up.
The semi was reportedly carrying plastic bottles or containers. It appears the crash was cleared and the road was reopened just before 12:20 PM.
The crash remains under investigation by the Minnesota State Patrol.
