Man Dies After Saint Paul Shooting; Person of Interest Taken Into Custody

SAINT PAUL MN: A man has died following a shooting Saturday morning in Saint Paul, and police say a person of interest was taken into custody shortly after officers arrived.
According to the Saint Paul Police Department, officers were called to the 600 block of Park Street just after 11:44 a.m. on Aug. 29 for multiple reports of a shooting.
When officers arrived, they found an adult man suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. Officers provided first aid before Saint Paul Fire medics transported the man to Regions Hospital, where he later died from his injuries.
Police established a perimeter and deployed a drone and police K9s in an effort to locate a potential suspect. At approximately 12:23 p.m., an adult man described by police as a person of interest was taken into custody without incident.
Police have not released additional information about the person taken into custody or said what may have led to the shooting.
The department's Forensic Services and Video Management units are processing the scene and searching for evidence as police work to determine what happened.
The Ramsey County Medical Examiner's Office will conduct an autopsy to identify the victim and determine his exact cause of death.
According to Saint Paul police, the death marks the city's 14th homicide of 2026.
