Two Lakeville Teens Seriously Injured in Three-Vehicle Crash
LAKEVILLE, MINNESOTA - Two 19-year-old men were seriously injured Tuesday evening after a three-vehicle crash at the intersection of 215th Street West (County Road 70) and Dodd Boulevard.
According to the Lakeville Police Department, the collision occurred on August 12, 2025, just before 5:30 p.m. According to the Lakeville Police, the preliminary investigation shows a Ford Ranger pickup was traveling eastbound on 215th Street West and attempting to make a left turn to go north on Dodd Boulevard when a westbound Ford F-250 struck it. Preliminary witness statements indicate the Ford Ranger failed to yield to the oncoming truck.
The impact pushed the Ford Ranger into a third vehicle that had been stopped at a traffic light on southbound Dodd Boulevard, waiting to turn right onto westbound 215th Street West. Both the driver and passenger of the Ford Ranger, identified as the two 19-year-old Lakeville residents, were trapped inside their vehicle and required extrication by Lakeville Fire Department crews. They were transported by ground ambulance to Hennepin County Medical Center with significant injuries. We have not received an update on their condition yet.
The drivers of the Ford F-250 and the third vehicle, who were the only occupants in their respective vehicles, did not report injuries requiring immediate hospitalization.
Due to the severity of the crash, a Minnesota State Patrol Crash Reconstruction Specialist responded to the scene. The Lakeville Police Department was also assisted by the Dakota County Sheriff’s Office and Allina EMS.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
