UPDATE: One Critically Injured in Three-Vehicle Crash Involving Semi in Denmark Township
DENMARK TOWNSHIP, MINNESOTA: A crash involving three vehicles—including a semi-truck—sent one man to the hospital with life-threatening injuries Wednesday afternoon, May 14, 2025, in Denmark Township in Washington County. The collision occurred at approximately 1:52 PM at Highway 95 and 70th Street.
According to the Minnesota State Patrol, a 2022 Freightliner Cascadia semi-truck was traveling northbound on Highway 95 when it collided with a 2011 GMC Sierra pickup, which was traveling eastbound on 70th Street. The impact pushed the GMC Sierra into a 2004 GMC Sierra that was heading southbound on Highway 95.
Victim Details:
Shane Joseph Loughney, 48, of Woodville, Wisconsin, was driving the 2011 GMC Sierra. His airbag deployed, and he was transported to Regions Hospital with life-threatening injuries. He was wearing a seat belt. Whether alcohol was involved is currently unknown, according to the Minnesota State Patrol.
Thomas Arnold Dorschner, 20, of Hastings, Minnesota, was the driver of the 2004 GMC Sierra. He suffered non-life-threatening injuries and did not require hospitalization. He was wearing a seat belt, and no alcohol involvement was reported.
Gurusevak Singh, 27, of Indianapolis, Indiana, was the semi-truck driver. He sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to Regina Hospital for treatment. Singh was also wearing a seat belt, and alcohol was not involved.
First responders reported entrapment and noted that CPR was being administered at the scene. Emergency crews from the Minnesota State Patrol, Cottage Grove, Woodbury, Hastings Fire Departments, Cottage Grove Police, Washington County Sheriff’s Office, and MnDOT were dispatched.
The crash prompted significant traffic disruption in the area as crews conducted rescue operations and began investigating the cause of the incident. Highway 95 was closed between 60th Street South and 77th Street South in both directions as the Minnesota State Patrol conducted a crash investigation. The road was projected to be closed until about 5 PM Wednesday evening.
