Suspected Impaired Driver Arrested Following Crash on Cedar Avenue in Eagan

Published: May 20, 2026

EAGAN, MINNESOTA - A suspected impaired driver was taken into custody Wednesday evening following a two-vehicle crash along northbound Cedar Avenue in Eagan.

According to information we gathered from the scene, emergency crews were dispatched just after 6:15 p.m. on Wednesday, May 20, 2026, to the area of northbound Cedar Avenue underneath the Diffley Road bridge for reports of a crash on the left shoulder involving two vehicles with possible injuries. Responding agencies included the Eagan Fire Department, Eagan Police Department, Minnesota State Patrol, and MHealth Medics. Initial reports from the scene indicated that one occupant in the victim vehicle may have suffered injuries as a result of the crash. The extent of any injuries has not yet been confirmed.

While crews remained on scene, Minnesota State Patrol troopers conducted field sobriety testing on a male driver. Following multiple tests and what appeared to be a refusal to submit to a preliminary breath test, the individual was placed in handcuffs and taken into custody.

Following the arrest, troopers searched the vehicle involved, and we witnessed troopers locate several empty miniature bottles inside and place them on the roof. We allege these were mini liquor bottles.

Limitless Media News has reached out to the Minnesota State Patrol for additional information on the crash, any reported injuries, and any pending criminal charges. This story will be updated as more details become available.

Under Minnesota law, criminal charges are allegations only, and all individuals are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
