Two Injured in Seven-Vehicle Crash on I-35E at Lone Oak Road in Eagan

EAGAN, MN: Two people were injured Tuesday morning after a seven-vehicle crash on northbound Interstate 35E at Lone Oak Road in Eagan, according to the Minnesota State Patrol.

The crash happened at approximately 7:57 a.m. on northbound I-35E near the Lone Oak Road exit.

According to the State Patrol, a Ford Transit van was traveling northbound in the right lane when it encountered stopped traffic due to congestion. Investigators say the van rear-ended a Hyundai Sonata, triggering a chain-reaction crash involving five additional vehicles, for a total of seven vehicles involved.

The drivers of both the Ford Transit van and the Hyundai Sonata suffered suspected injuries. The driver of the Sonata was transported to M Health Fairview for treatment, while the Transit van driver declined transportation by emergency medical services.

No additional injury information has been released.
