Burnsville Opens New City Hall Addition as Police Department Expansion Moves Forward

BURNSVILLE MN - Burnsville’s new City Hall addition opened Monday, marking the completion of the first phase of the city’s Police City Hall project.
City officials say the improvements to City Hall, along with the upcoming expansion and renovation of the Burnsville Police Department, are intended to better serve residents and city staff for decades to come.
With the new addition open, visitors should now use the new City Hall and Police Department entrances. Parking is available in Lots A and B, with additional overflow parking available across Civic Center Parkway.
Absentee voting has also moved into the new City Hall addition.
Several resident drop-off locations have been relocated. The absentee ballot drop box, post box and utility payment box are now located in Lot A directly outside the entrance.
While the first phase is complete, construction at the civic campus is expected to continue for approximately another year and a half as work moves into Phase 2, which includes the Police Department expansion and renovations.
During the next phase of construction, public safety vehicles will enter and exit from the southeast side of the main parking lot along Civic Center Parkway. The city is asking motorists and visitors to watch for emergency vehicles in the area.
Burnsville will hold a ribbon-cutting ceremony celebrating the completion of Phase 1 and a groundbreaking ceremony for Phase 2 on Wednesday, Oct. 14, from 5 to 7 p.m.
