WOODBURY MN - A 22-year-old woman is facing criminal charges in Washington County following an early Saturday morning crash in Woodbury that left a passenger injured.

According to a criminal complaint, Ayiana Marie Gabler has been charged with gross misdemeanor criminal vehicular operation resulting in bodily harm while under the influence of alcohol and misdemeanor driving while impaired (DWI).

The crash occurred on October 3, 2026, at approximately 12:40 a.m. near the roundabout at Bailey Road and Radio Drive.

Woodbury police officers responding to the scene found a pickup truck with severe damage to its passenger-side door and a Ford Escape stopped in the middle of the roundabout with extensive front-end damage and deployed airbags.

According to the complaint, occupants of the pickup truck told officers that the Ford Escape appeared not to slow down as it approached the roundabout and failed to yield while the pickup was traveling through it.

Officers also encountered a passenger in the Ford Escape who was reportedly experiencing significant pain. The passenger complained of rib pain and difficulty breathing, according to court documents.

Police identified Gabler as the driver of the Ford Escape. While speaking with her, officers reported detecting a slight odor of alcohol on her breath and observing that her eyes appeared glossy.

According to the complaint, Gabler admitted to consuming two alcoholic seltzer-type beverages earlier that evening, with her last drink approximately two hours before the crash.

Officers asked Gabler twice to participate in standardized field sobriety testing, but she declined both requests, according to the complaint.

Gabler was subsequently arrested and transported to Woodwinds Hospital for medical clearance. Investigators obtained a search warrant for a blood sample, and Gabler agreed to undergo the blood draw.

The blood sample was collected at approximately 2:28 a.m. Results were still pending at the time the criminal complaint was prepared.

The gross misdemeanor criminal vehicular operation charge carries a maximum penalty of 364 days in jail and/or a $3,000 fine. The misdemeanor DWI charge carries a maximum penalty of 90 days in jail and/or a $1,000 fine.

The allegations are based on the criminal complaint filed in Washington County. Gabler is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in court.
