WOODBURY MN — A man is facing a felony charge after Woodbury police allege a pursuit reached speeds of approximately 122 mph and continued for nearly 18 miles early Thursday morning.
Kerry Lee Wilson-Snyder, 32, has been charged in Washington County District Court with felony fleeing a peace officer in a motor vehicle. The charge carries a maximum sentence of three years and one day in prison and a $5,000 fine.
According to the criminal complaint, Woodbury police officers observed a vehicle speeding and crossing several lane and fog lines near Interstate 694 and Tamarack Road at approximately 1:58 a.m. on Sept. 24.
Officers attempted to initiate a traffic stop, but prosecutors allege the vehicle accelerated to a high rate of speed and began driving evasively, including abruptly changing lanes and cutting off other traffic.
The complaint alleges the vehicle reached approximately 122 mph during a pursuit that continued for nearly 18 miles.
Police deployed stop sticks and attempted PIT maneuvers during the pursuit, which the complaint describes as only moderately successful. Officers eventually stopped the vehicle on Highway 36.
Wilson-Snyder, who was allegedly the vehicle’s sole occupant and driver, was taken into custody.
Wilson-Snyder is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in court.
