Inver Grove Heights Employee Accused of Stealing Over $11,000 From Dealership to Fuel Gambling Addiction

INVER GROVE HEIGHTS MN: A car dealership employee in Inver Grove Heights is facing a felony theft charge after allegedly stealing more than $11,000 in company cash deposits over a three-month period.
According to a criminal complaint filed in Dakota County, officers began investigating the reported employee theft on January 9, 2026. The complaint states that Brittany Jen Fox, born March 7, 1996, was responsible for transporting dealership cash to a bank for deposit.
After reviewing bank records and comparing them with the dealership’s internal financial records, investigators identified multiple deposits that were never made. The missing deposits allegedly occurred on:
Oct. 22, 2025: $1,204.84
Oct. 30, 2025: $600.83
Oct. 31, 2025: $600.95
Nov. 12, 2025: $1,270.60
Nov. 29, 2025: $1,843.37
Dec. 16, 2025: $1,802.52
Dec. 26, 2025: $1,562.28
Dec. 30, 2025: $600.43
In total, the complaint alleges $11,485.82 was not deposited.
According to the complaint, Fox admitted to officers that she stole the deposits and said she did so to fuel a gambling addiction.
Fox is charged with Theft (Aggregating) Over $5,000 under Minnesota Statute 609.52.2(a)(1), with reference to 609.52.3(2). The charge is a felony in the State of Minnesota.
If convicted, she faces a maximum sentence of up to 10 years in prison and/or fines ranging from $6,000 to $20,000.
