APPLE VALLEY, MINNESOTA - Despite significant damage following a three-vehicle crash at a busy Apple Valley intersection on Wednesday afternoon, there were no reported injuries, and one driver was cited, according to the crash report from the Apple Valley Police Department.

The collision occurred at approximately 4:45 p.m. on Wednesday, February 18, 2026, at the intersection of Galaxie Avenue and McAndrews Road in Apple Valley as moderate to heavy snow was actively falling at the time. Roads were quickly deteriorating with slick and icy road conditions.

Crash Details

According to the crash report narrative, Vehicle 1 - a 2023 Toyota Hylander driven by a 35-year-old woman from Rosemount - was traveling westbound on McAndrews Road when the driver lost control of the vehicle and slid into Vehicle 2 - a 2004 Hyundai Elantra driven by a 23-year-old woman from Apple Valley. Vehicle 2 was stopped in the southbound turn lane on Galaxie Avenue, preparing to turn eastbound onto McAndrews Road. After being struck, Vehicle 2 was pushed forward into Vehicle 3 - a 2013 Subaru Impreza driven by a 23-year-old male from Apple Valley, which was stopped in the through lane on Galaxie at the intersection.

According to the police report, Vehicle 1 lost control and slid into Vehicle 2. Vehicle 2 was then pushed into Vehicle 3. There were no injuries reported, though medics on scene were seen evaluating at least one driver. Driver 1 was cited for failure to drive with due care. The police report states that Vehicle 1 was traveling too fast for conditions, though it was not reported that they were technically speeding; a contributing factor was the careless, negligent, or erratic operation of the vehicle.
