BLOOMINGTON MN: An Apple Valley man has been charged in Hennepin County after authorities allege he touched a woman without consent and secretly recorded women inside a Walmart store in Bloomington.
According to the criminal complaint, Alexis Becerra, 27, is charged with fifth-degree criminal sexual conduct involving nonconsensual sexual contact, a gross misdemeanor, and interference with privacy related to photographing or recording intimate parts without consent, a misdemeanor.
The complaint states that Bloomington police officers working contractual overtime at the Walmart located on American Boulevard East were alerted by a store asset protection employee on April 16, 2026, after a woman was allegedly seen concealing merchandise inside her shorts.
While reviewing surveillance footage, officers allegedly observed Becerra approach the woman from behind in a store aisle and point a cellphone toward her buttocks area while appearing to photograph or record her. The complaint states officers also observed Becerra looking around before aiming the phone toward the woman, as if checking whether anyone was watching.
According to the complaint, surveillance footage later showed Becerra allegedly touching the woman’s buttocks over her clothing. The woman immediately moved her arm outward in an apparent attempt to create distance and push him away, the complaint states. Investigators allege Becerra then also touched the woman’s breasts over her clothing before she walked away while he continued following her through the store.
The woman later told authorities that Becerra allegedly confronted her after seeing her steal merchandise and told her he would not report the theft if she allowed him to touch her, according to the complaint. She told investigators she said “no” and “don’t touch me,” removed the merchandise from her clothing, and attempted to walk away from him.
The complaint states the woman reported the touching was nonconsensual and requested criminal charges.
Police arrested Becerra after he exited the store, according to the complaint. Officers seized an iPhone from his pocket.
In a post-Miranda statement, the complaint states Becerra admitted to touching the woman’s buttocks and breasts over her clothing and admitted he told her he would contact police about the alleged theft if she did not allow him to touch her.
Investigators later executed a search warrant on the cellphone, according to the complaint. Authorities allege they located videos and photographs depicting the woman from behind with the camera zoomed in on her buttocks area, along with numerous other images and videos allegedly showing female Walmart shoppers recorded without their knowledge or consent.
Defendants are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty.
