EAGAN, MINNESOTA — Multiple fire departments responded to a structure fire Sunday morning, November 23, 2025, at the Bayberry Place Apartments, located in the 3300 block of Yankee Doodle Road. The fire, first reported just before 9:00 a.m., quickly escalated to a second-alarm as heavy, black smoke was reported coming from the building. Crews worked to promptly contain the flames from spreading through the building.
Eagan Fire Department was first on scene, with mutual aid from Burnsville, Apple Valley, South Metro, and Inver Grove Heights. Eagan Police and MHealth medics also assisted with traffic control, safety, and medical support.
Residents who were inside the building at the time of the fire reported seeing thick, heavy black smoke pouring from the second and third floors. Several residents also said the hallways were filled with heavy smoke, making evacuation difficult and visibility extremely limited. Witnesses outside the building said the fire appeared to start on the second floor before extending upward to the third. Firefighters worked aggressively to ventilate the structure, knock down visible flames, and prevent further spread.
Officials with the Eagan Fire Department tell us the cause of the fire is still under investigation. They also confirmed that no injuries were reported.
This remains a developing story. More details will be provided as they become available.
