Search Efforts Continue Across a Wide Area
In a statement shared with the Hastings Journal and directly with Limitless Media, Hastings Police Chief David Wilske confirmed that the activity at Jaycee Park and the Lock and Dam area is tied to a missing-person case they received on Friday. The Police Chief said search teams did a comprehensive grid search on Sunday, sweeping areas from federal land west of the dam to locations downstream east of the marina, and both sides of the river. The Dakota County Sheriff’s Office was doing both a river search by boat and an aerial search by drone technology. The search on Sunday went until sunset.
Due to hunting activity in the region, crews temporarily paused their search efforts in Gores Pool #3 on Sunday for safety reasons, according to the Police Chief, as reported by the Hastings Journal. The Police Chief confirmed they spoke with the MnDNR about speaking with hunters and members of the public in that area regarding being alert and to call 911 or the Hastings Police Department if they observe anything unusual or locate items that may assist investigators.
The Police Chief told Limitless Media this morning that crews will be searching the area again today, Monday, November 24, 2025.
This remains a developing situation. Limitless Media News will continue to provide updates as soon as additional verified information becomes available.
