Man Charged with Indecent Exposure Involving Minor in Hennepin County

HOPKINS: — A man faces a gross misdemeanor charge in Hennepin County District Court following an alleged indecent exposure incident involving a minor earlier this week.
Brandon Charles Hegg-McLaughlin has been formally charged with indecent exposure in the presence of a minor under the age of 16, according to public criminal complaint filings.
The charge stems from an incident alleged to have occurred on or about September 17, 2026, in Hopkins.
According to court documents filed under Minnesota Statute § 617.23, subdivision 2(1), prosecutors allege that Hegg-McLaughlin willfully and lewdly exposed his body or private parts, or engaged in open lewdness or public indecency, in a public space or location where others were present, specifically in the presence of a juvenile under 16 years of age.
If convicted, the gross misdemeanor charge carries a statutory maximum sentence of up to 364 days in jail, a $3,000 fine, or both.
Hegg-McLaughlin is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
