Brooklyn Park Man Charged With Two Counts of First-Degree Criminal Sexual Conduct

BROOKLYN PARK- A man has been charged with two felony counts of first-degree criminal sexual conduct following an alleged incident in Brooklyn Park last week.
According to a Hennepin County criminal complaint, Aakaryi Malone Godwin is accused of sexually penetrating a woman and causing her personal injury during an alleged incident on Friday, Oct. 2.
Godwin is charged with one count of first-degree criminal sexual conduct alleging penetration causing personal injury through the use of coercion.
He is also charged with a second count of first-degree criminal sexual conduct alleging penetration causing personal injury through the use of force.
Both charges are felonies. According to the complaint, each count carries a maximum possible sentence of 30 years in prison and/or a fine ranging from $12,000 to $40,000, in addition to conditional release requirements.
The alleged incident occurred in Brooklyn Park, according to the complaint.
The charges are allegations, and Godwin is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in court.
