BURNSVILLE, MINNESOTA - A reported bomb threat prompted a large law enforcement response and temporarily closed a business and surrounding parking area in Burnsville on Friday evening.
According to initial information gathered by Limitless Media News, Burnsville Police and Burnsville Fire responded at approximately 5:30 p.m. on Friday, June 5, 2026, to the Lunds & Byerlys shopping area along County Road 42 after receiving reports of a possible bomb threat. As a precaution, the business and parking lot were evacuated and closed while authorities searched the property for any threat.
Witnesses reported seeing numerous emergency vehicles in the area as officers secured the scene and prevented access to the business during the investigation.
In a statement provided to Limitless Media News, Burnsville officials clarified that officers were dispatched to U.S. Bank, located inside the Lunds & Byerlys, at 401 County Road 42 East, in response to the bomb threat.
"Officers were called to US Bank located at 401 County Road 42 E for a bomb threat," the statement said. "The business was searched with the assistance of the Airport Police Department, and nothing was found."
Authorities said the search did not uncover any suspicious devices or evidence of an immediate threat. The scene was subsequently cleared, allowing businesses in the area to resume normal operations by approximately 6:40 p.m. The affected area had been reopened to the public.
Officials noted that the investigation remains active.
"The threat remains under investigation, and officers are conducting follow-up efforts," the statement continued.
While not specifically stated by Burnsville Officials, Limitless Media News knows from reporting on similar incidents across the south Twin Cities Metro that the MSP Airport Police were called to the scene to assist with the search of the business because they have bomb-sniffing dogs, a common practice when responding to potential explosive threats.
No injuries were reported, and no arrests have been announced as of Friday evening.
Limitless Media News will continue to follow the investigation and provide updates as additional information becomes available.
