Driver Arrested on Suspicion of DWI After Vehicle Crashes Into Mendota Heights Restaurant

MENDOTA HEIGHTS MN: A driver was arrested on suspicion of driving while impaired after a vehicle crashed into a Mendota Heights restaurant Friday afternoon, according to the Mendota Heights Police Department.
Police said the crash occurred at approximately 1:18 p.m. when a vehicle left the roadway and struck the side of the Copperfield Restaurant.
Authorities credited the quick actions of restaurant patrons and staff with helping prevent more serious injuries. According to police, individuals inside the restaurant shouted warnings and moved quickly to contact emergency services after the vehicle struck the building.
The adult male driver was taken into custody and is being held at the Mendota Heights Police Department on suspicion of driving under the influence.
