SAVAGE, MINNESOTA—Firefighters from across the metro responded to a structure fire early Wednesday morning at the Cargill Salt facility, located at 12105 Lynn Avenue South in Savage.
The Savage Fire Department was dispatched at approximately 1:17 a.m. on Wednesday, August 6, 2025, after reports of a fire inside a large concrete storage structure at the industrial site. Upon arrival, crews confirmed active flames and began an aggressive attack to contain the blaze. Due to the scale of the fire and the size of the facility, the incident was quickly upgraded to a second alarm at 1:25 a.m., and then to a third alarm just two minutes later. By early morning, crews had successfully contained the fire, though firefighters remained on scene working to stabilize and monitor the situation fully. No injuries have been reported at this time. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
