Watertown Man Faces 8 Felony Charges Involving Minor in Carver County

Published: June 23rd, 2026

CARVER COUNTY: A Watertown man faces multiple felony charges in Carver County District Court following allegations that he recorded a minor and used the juvenile in the production of child sexual abuse material over a multi-week span.

Ismael Carrion Martinez, 45, has been charged with five counts of using minors in a sexual performance or pornographic work, and three counts of interference with privacy against a minor under 18. All eight counts are classified as felonies.

According to the criminal complaint, prosecutors allege the offenses occurred on several distinct dates between May 17, 2026, and June 9, 2026, within Carver County.

The charging documents state that Martinez allegedly used a device to photograph or record images of a minor victim’s intimate parts without consent inside a dwelling or location where a reasonable person would expect privacy. The state further alleges that Martinez knew the juvenile was present, acted with sexual intent, and is more than 36 months older than the victim.

Additionally, prosecutors allege that on five separate occasions during that period, Martinez knowingly promoted, employed, used, or permitted a minor to engage in posing or modeling alone or with others for child sexual abuse material.

The statutory maximum penalties for the charges are substantial:

  • Use of Minors in Sexual Performance (Counts I, III, VI, VII, VIII): Up to 15 years in prison and/or a $40,000 fine per count.

  • Interference with Privacy against a Minor (Counts II, IV, V): Up to 4 years in prison and/or a $5,000 fine per count.

A criminal complaint contains only allegations. The defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
