Cottage Grove house fire damages home, no injuries reported

COTTAGE GROVE: Fire crews responded to a residential fire early Friday morning in Cottage Grove, according to the Cottage Grove Fire Department.

At approximately 3:53 a.m. on April 3, firefighters were dispatched to the 7700 block of 77th Avenue South for a reported structure fire. Upon arrival, crews located a single-family home with heavy fire involvement.

According to the fire department, crews initiated fire suppression efforts and were able to contain the fire to the home of origin.

No injuries were reported.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.

Multiple agencies assisted at the scene, including fire departments from Hastings, Inver Grove Heights, Lake Elmo, Newport, South Metro, St. Paul Park, and Woodbury. M Health EMS and the Cottage Grove Police Department also responded.

The Cottage Grove Fire Department stated it is grateful for the continued partnership of its mutual aid and emergency response partners.
