Four-Vehicle Crash in Apple Valley Sends At Least One Person to Hospital, Causes Road Closures

Published: April 3, 2026

APPLE VALLEY, MN: Emergency crews responded to a multi-vehicle injury crash Thursday afternoon at a busy Apple Valley intersection, prompting road closures and an extended on-scene investigation.

According to authorities, the crash occurred at approximately 3:21 p.m. at the intersection of 157th Street and Pilot Knob Road. Responding agencies included Apple Valley Fire, Apple Valley Police, and Allina Health EMS. Due to the severity and complexity of the crash, the Minnesota State Patrol was also requested to assist with crash reconstruction.

We were able to confirm that the crash involved four vehicles. At least one individual had to be extricated from a vehicle by emergency crews before being transported to the hospital. The total number of people injured and the severity of their injuries have not yet been released.

Road Closures and Traffic Impact

The crash led to significant traffic disruptions in the area during the afternoon commute. Authorities closed:

  • Southbound Pilot Knob Road at 155th Street

  • Eastbound 157th Street just west of the intersection

The closures remained in place while emergency responders assisted victims, cleared the crash, and investigators worked to determine the cause of the crash.

Witness Account (Unconfirmed)

A witness to the crash tells Limitless Media News that a green Ford Focus, driven by an elderly woman, had allegedly entered the intersection against a red light and collided with a white pickup truck. The witness stated the driver appeared to be unconscious but breathing following the crash and was transported to the hospital.

It remains unclear whether a medical issue may have contributed to the crash. Authorities have not confirmed these details, and the account has not been independently verified. We have reached out to the Apple Valley Police Department for more information about this crash and will provide an update once we have more information.

Investigation Ongoing

Again, officials have not released an official cause of the crash. The involvement of the Minnesota State Patrol’s reconstruction team suggests investigators are taking a detailed look at the sequence of events leading up to the collision.

More information, including potential contributing factors and injury updates, is expected to be released as the investigation continues.

This is a developing story. Updates will be provided as more information becomes available.
