Two Injured in Cottage Grove House Fire; Crews Contain Blaze to First Floor

COTTAGE GROVE MN: Two people were injured in a house fire Wednesday evening in Cottage Grove, according to the Cottage Grove Fire Department.

Fire crews were dispatched to a structure fire in the 7000 block of Jenner Bay South and arrived on scene within two minutes. Upon arrival, firefighters found a single-family home with an active fire on the first floor.

Two residents suffered burn injuries and smoke inhalation. Crews worked to extinguish the fire while simultaneously providing medical care, with assistance from Cottage Grove Police.

Both patients were transported to Regions Hospital for treatment.

Firefighters, along with mutual aid partners, were able to contain the fire to the first floor of the home.

Agencies assisting at the scene included Woodbury Fire, Newport Fire, Saint Paul Park Fire, Lake Elmo Fire, M Health EMS, and the Washington County Sheriff’s Office.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation. No additional information has been released.
