Man Killed, Woman Critically Injured in St. Paul Shooting; Suspect in Custody

SAINT PAUL MN: A man has died and a woman remains in critical condition following a shooting Wednesday afternoon in St. Paul, according to police.

Officers with the Saint Paul Police Department were called around 1:11 p.m. to the 1500 block of Edmund Avenue after a 911 caller reported being shot.

When officers arrived, they located an adult man and an adult woman, both suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. Police began providing aid until medics from Saint Paul Fire Department arrived on scene.

Both victims were transported to Regions Hospital. Authorities say the man later died from his injuries, while the woman remains in critical condition.

Police took an adult male suspect into custody without incident a short time after the shooting. Investigators say there is no ongoing threat to the public.

The Ramsey County Medical Examiner’s Office will release the victim’s identity and determine the official cause of death following an autopsy.

Officials confirmed this marks the third homicide in St. Paul so far in 2026.
