Belle Plaine Man Listed as School Bus Driver Charged With 10 Felony Counts of Possessing Child Sexual Abuse Material

SCOTT COUNTY MN: A Belle Plaine man has been charged in Scott County with 10 felony counts of possessing child sexual abuse material involving minors under the age of 14, according to a criminal complaint that states he’s employed as a school bus driver for New Prague Area Schools Transportation.

David Leigh Hadfield, is charged with 10 counts of Possession of Child Sexual Abuse Material Involving a Minor Under 14 under Minnesota Statute 617.247.4(b)(3). Each count carries a maximum penalty of 10 years in prison, a $10,000 fine, or both.

According to the complaint, the alleged offenses occurred on or about April 8, 2026. Prosecutors allege Hadfield possessed electronic storage devices containing child sexual abuse material depicting minors under the age of 14. The complaint lists 10 separate images as the basis for the charges.

The criminal complaint states Hadfield is employed as a school bus driver for New Prague Area Schools Transportation. Hadfield is listed as a resident of Belle Plaine.

Court records show the case was filed in Scott County District Court under control number 26001925.

Defendants are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
