DAYTON MN — A fire caused significant smoke and water damage to a single-family home in Dayton Sunday evening, though no injuries were reported.
According to the Dayton Fire Department, crews were dispatched at 7:30 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 8, to a reported structure fire at a residence in the 11350 block of Dallas Lane. The initial 911 call came from a neighbor who reported that “something was on fire.”
When firefighters arrived, they confirmed an active structure fire and immediately upgraded the incident. Crews quickly began suppression efforts to contain the fire and prevent it from spreading.
Fire officials said the home sustained significant smoke and water damage to both the roof and interior. A preliminary investigation indicates the fire likely originated on the second floor of the residence, where a wood-burning fireplace had been used for heating. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
No injuries were reported among the home’s occupants or responding firefighters.
The Dayton Fire Department was assisted by multiple surrounding agencies, including the Maple Grove Fire Department, Rogers Fire Department, Anoka-Champlin Fire Department, Osseo Fire Department, Brooklyn Park Fire Department, the West Suburban Fire District and the Elk River Fire Department. Fire officials thanked the assisting agencies for their rapid response and coordinated efforts.
