SOUTH ST PAUL, MINNESOTA — The South St. Paul City Council will hold a Special Worksession this week dedicated entirely to discussing the local impacts of federal immigration enforcement within the community.

The worksession is scheduled for Thursday, February 12, at 5:30 p.m. and will take place at the Kaposia Education Center Auditorium, located at 1225 1st Avenue South. City officials are encouraging residents to attend and observe the discussion.

According to the City of South St. Paul, the meeting will focus exclusively on examining how federal immigration enforcement activity affects the city and its residents. The worksession format is intended to provide council members an opportunity for in-depth discussion, information sharing, and policy consideration rather than formal action or voting.

City leaders have emphasized that the session is designed to foster transparency and a better understanding of community concerns. Attendance allows residents to hear directly from elected officials as they discuss community impacts, coordination with other agencies, and potential local considerations tied to federal enforcement actions.

Residents interested in staying informed about the issue or understanding how it may affect families, businesses, schools, and city services are encouraged to attend.

Additional details about the worksession and related future discussions are expected to be shared by the city after the meeting.
