Eagan Man Charged After Alleged Privacy Incident Involving Minors at Mall of America

BLOOMINGTON: An Eagan man has been charged in Hennepin County following an alleged privacy violation involving minors at the Mall of America in Bloomington.
According to a criminal complaint, Vittorio Renda, 71, of Eagan, is charged with one count of interference with privacy by using a device to photograph or record intimate areas, a gross misdemeanor under Minnesota law.
The alleged incident occurred on or about July 9, 2026, at the Mall of America. According to the complaint, Renda is accused of surreptitiously using a device to observe or record individuals in a location where they had a reasonable expectation of privacy, with the intent to intrude upon or interfere with that privacy.
Court documents state the alleged victims were minors.
If convicted, the gross misdemeanor charge carries a maximum penalty of one year in jail, a $3,000 fine, or both.
The criminal complaint contains allegations that have not been proven in court. Renda is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.
