Edina Police Investigating Fatal Shooting On W. 66th Street; Suspects Fled Scene

EDINA MN: The Edina Police Department is investigating a fatal shooting that occurred Wednesday afternoon in the 3300 block of West 66th Street.

According to an update issued around 3 p.m., officers were called to the area at approximately 12:30 p.m. on a report of a shooting. When officers arrived, they located one victim suffering from a gunshot wound.

Police said life-saving measures were attempted, but the victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

Authorities said the suspects fled before officers arrived and remain at large. Investigators are actively following up on leads.

Nearby businesses were advised to go into lockdown during the response.

Out of caution, officials are asking the public to continue avoiding the area as multiple law enforcement agencies remain on scene and the investigation continues.

Police are also asking anyone with security or surveillance footage from the area to contact investigators via email at police@EdinaMN.gov.

No additional information about the victim or suspects has been released.

The investigation remains ongoing.
