Farmington Fire Department Honors 2025 Award Recipients at Annual Banquet

FARMINGTON, MINNESOTA - The Farmington Fire Department recognized two of its members for outstanding service and leadership during the department’s annual awards banquet held Saturday, May 2, 2026, at Glenhaven Events. The annual event celebrates the dedication and commitment of the department’s firefighters and officers while also recognizing the support provided by spouses and significant others throughout the year.
During the banquet, the department announced its 2025 award recipients:
2025 Firefighter of the Year: Crew Leader Rick Fischer
2025 Fire Officer of the Year: Lieutenant Jason Graham
According to the department, the awards carry special significance because recipients are nominated and selected by their peers, the fellow firefighters and officers who work alongside them during emergency responses, training, and day-to-day operations.
Department officials said the honors go beyond simply recognizing years of service or the number of calls answered. Instead, the awards acknowledge individuals who consistently demonstrate leadership, humility, compassion, and dedication both on emergency scenes and within the department itself.
In a statement, the department praised Fischer and Graham for embodying the department’s core values of loyalty, morality, professionalism, dedication, and integrity.
Officials also highlighted the lasting impact both men have had on the organization, noting that their leadership and work ethic have strengthened the department’s culture and made a meaningful difference in the community they serve.
The department stated that both award recipients exemplify the department's motto, “Serving Those in Need,” through their continued commitment to fellow firefighters and the Farmington community.
The Farmington Fire Department thanked Fischer and Graham for their sacrifices, dedication, and leadership, calling the recognition well deserved.
