FARMINGTON, MINNESOTA – The Farmington Police Department is kicking off its 38th annual Toys for Town program, a beloved local tradition that brings holiday cheer to families in need throughout the community.

The Toys for Town initiative provides participating families with both holiday meal kits and wrapped gifts for their children. In 2024, the program reached 140 families and delivered gifts to 450 children, a benchmark the department expects to meet again this year.

To support this effort, Farmington Police have set a fundraising goal of $35,000 for the 2025 campaign. The funds will help cover the cost of food, teen gift cards, and wrapping-day supplies.

How to Donate

Collection bins for new, unwrapped toys have been placed at local businesses and city buildings across Farmington. Donations will be accepted beginning Monday, November 3, and continue through Monday, December 8.

Those wishing to make a monetary contribution can stop by the Farmington Police Department during lobby hours, Monday through Thursday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Wrapping Day Details

The annual community Wrapping Day event will be held on Saturday, December 13, starting at 9 a.m. inside Farmington High School (20655 Flagstaff Ave). Volunteers are invited to join the effort, no registration required. Participants are encouraged to arrive ready to wrap and help spread the holiday spirit.

How to Request Assistance

Families in need of assistance can call the dedicated Toys for Town hotline at 651-280-6TOY (6869) or email Toys4Town@FarmingtonMN.gov between November 3 and December 8.

A full list of toy drop-off locations is available at FarmingtonMN.gov/CET.

The Farmington Police Department encourages residents, businesses, and civic groups to join them in continuing this nearly four-decade-long tradition of giving — helping ensure that every child in the community experiences the joy of the holiday season.
